Партия "сохатого"
Политическая партия, основанная президентом США Т. Рузвельтом [Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (FDR)] в 1912. В августе 1912 на национальном конвенте в г. Чикаго выдвинула его кандидатуру на пост президента и обошла по результатам Республиканскую партию [Republican Party], кандидатом которой был выдвинут У. Г. Тафт [Taft, William Howard]. Прогрессисты [Progressives, the] выделились из Республиканской партии после повторной номинации Тафта, но вновь объединились с ней во время избирательной кампании 1916, так как их лидеров устраивала кандидатура Ч. Хьюза [Hughes, Charles Evans].
